Real Techniques: Buffing Brush VS. Stippling Brush

I'm sure you're all familiar with the Pixiwoo sisters on YouTube, but if not make sure you check out their channel! They are incredible makeup artists and so so lovely! Whenever I see a new video in my subscription box, I am a very happy bunny! Samantha Chapman, one of the pixiwoo sisters, brought out a range of makeup brushes last year and they have been raved about ever since you could get hold of them. I just thought I would compare the 2 Real Techniques foundation brushes I have!

Buffing Brush

This brush is designed to give you full coverage with all different types of foundation. I use this brush with my liquid foundation, which is the bourjous healthy mix (shade 52.) The bristles are SO soft and its really easy to apply your foundation quickly. It gives you a really nice finish on the skin (medium coverage), however I do find that I have to use more foundation than I would with the Real Techniques Stippling Brush. Also, to get this brush you have to buy the Core Collection which includes 4 brushes; Buffing brush, Contour brush, Pointed Foundation brush and Detailer brush. It would be so much easier if you could just buy the brushes separate, however I do really rate the other brushes in the set!  This collection retails at £21.99 from boots, you can get it here. 

Stippling Brush

Again I use this with my current foundation, and I find it gives me the most flawless look on my skin. The bristles (super soft!) on the brush really allow me to buff in my foundation and create a full coverage. After trying both brushes out for about a 2 months now, I noticed that when using this brush, my foundation actually stays on a little bit longer compared to when I use the buffing brush. I've also heard that this brush is great for applying blushes as well as foundation. The stippling brush retails at £11.99 which is an amazing price, and is available from larger boots stores and online here.

So if I had to pick between these 2 brushes I would have to go for the Stippling Brush. I do really like the buffing brush, however I just find that the stippling brush gives me a more flawless and airbrushed effect on my skin. I would just like to say that with both of these brushes I have found that they do not shed a single hair and are really easy to clean. I absolutely love the packaging as well! I cant wait to try out more Real Techniques brushes because so far I'm really impressed!
